Our History
The company’s history begins in 1927 when a man named Joseph Becker came from Germany to Zinzinnati, Ohio. He eventually settled in a little city across the river from Cincinnati called Woodlawn, Kentucky, nestled between Bellevue, Fort Thomas and Newport, Kentucky. Joe Becker was a skilled stone mason and building craftsman when he came to Cincinnati and it wasn’t long before he began building homes in the area. Those homes can still be seen throughout the Northern Kentucky area, many with the trademark mixture of decorative fieldstone and brick.
In 1935, Carl Huber went to work for Mr. Becker, and in 1940 he
married Mr. Becker’s daughter and shortly thereafter took over the
family business. He ran it very successfully with building projects
located in Florence, Crittenden, and Alexandria, and subdivisions in
Edgewood, and Woodlawn and many beautiful homes in Fort Thomas. Carl
Huber had an outstanding reputation as an excellent builder and
remodeler and above all a man that you could trust to handle your
project fairly and professionally.
In 1975, a young carpenter named Dennis Behle came to work for Mr.
Huber and, you guessed it, he married Carl Huber’s daughter. In July
of 1981, Dennis became the Owner and President of Huber & Behle
Inc..
From 1981 to present day, Dennis Behle has operated the business
keeping in mind the principles, ideals, and ethics that made his
predecessors so successful. Huber & Behle is proud to have retained
several very skilled carpenters and craftsman that had originally
worked for Carl Huber, bringing with them outstanding skills,
knowledge, and a work ethic that is admired by all of our customers.
